Quote Of The Day: "Please leave Mark Emmert." - Everyone

Mark Emmert To Step Down

On Tuesday we received the fantastic news that NCAA President Mark Emmert would be stepping down from his post on July 1st, 2023 (I wish it was 2022, but I'll take what I can get).

Emmert has been the President of the NCAA since October of 2010, and in his release yesterday said "I am extremely proud of the work of the Association over the last 12 years and especially pleased with the hard work and dedication pf the national office staff here in Indianapolis."

To say the NCAA has been an absolute dumpster fire with Emmert at the helm would be an understatement. The Association is riddled with corruption and has seen some of the worst offenders of its rules get off completely free (We are looking at you North Carolina) while putting down harsh punishments on programs whose offenses pale in comparison.

Emmert will step away amid the maelstrom that is Name Image and Likeness, as the world of college athletics will look for a new leader to try and steer them through these uncharted waters. Let's hope that whoever is chosen to replace him has a bit more common sense to him.

Haskell Garrett Asks Fellow Draftees To Be Cautious In Vegas

Haskell Garrett tweeted out the following word of caution to all of those who are going to Las Vegas this week for the NFL Draft.

Wise words from the former Ohio State Defensive Tackle, who will be hearing his name called up at some point during this week. Whoever decides to spend a pick on Garrett will be getting a tenacious defended in the middle of their line, that has the ability to get to the QB, as well as stop the run. Wouldn't mind seeing my Cleveland Browns call his name.

Thanks for stopping in. Happy Hump Day!
