Victory Bell Week 9 Predictions
Updated: Oct 29, 2022
It's time for another weekend of college football predictions at the Victory Bell. Florida and #1 Georgia face off in Jacksonville for their yearly rivalry, and #2 Ohio State goes on the road for a battle against #13 Penn State. Also on this great slate of college football rivals Michigan State and #4 Michigan face off under the lights while #19 Kentucky travels to face the red-hot #3 Vols. One of the Big 12's last two playoff-contending teams #9 Oklahoma State will travel to #22 Kansas State for their second-ranked test of the year.
The Picks
Florida vs #1 Georiga 3:30 PM CBS (Jacksonville)
Evan 38-10 Georgia
Jake 31-13 Georgia
Brodie 34-17 Georgia
Jordan 52-14 Georgia
Andrew 34-27 Georgia
Georgia looks to continue their recent dominance over the rival Florida Gators. The Gators come into the game off a bye after previously losing 45-35 to LSU, whilst the defending national champion Bulldogs have continued their college football dominance and are sitting at #1 in the country. Most of us think this will be an easy win for the Dawgs and Vegas agrees with a -22.5 line on Georgia. However, Andrew thinks that Florida can keep this one closer.
#9 Oklahoma State @ #22 Kansas State 3:30 PM FOX
Evan 35-24 OKST
Jake 38-21 OKST
Brodie 31-24 KSU
Jordan 31-27 KSU
Andrew 41-38 OKST
In a pivotal matchup to make the Big 12 title game, the top 10 Cowboys will travel to Manhatten to face the #22 Wildcats. Last week, Kansas State had undefeated TCU on the ropes, but Wildcat QB Adrian Martinez got hurt on the first series of the game and backup Will Howard got banged up throughout and at times 3rd string QB Jake Rubley in the game. TCU ended up scoring the last 28 points of the game as Kansas States' offense and defense faltered and they gave up an 18-point lead. The winner of this game will take hold of one of the two big 12 title spots for the time being.
#19 Kentucky @ 3 Tennessee 7:00 PM ESPN
Evan 45-20 Tennessee
Jake 31-27 Kentucky
Brodie 38-28 Tennessee
Jordan 42-21 Tennessee
Andrew 45-31 Tennessee
Tennessee, having one of their most successful seasons anyone under the age of 30 can remember faces another top 25 test when rival Kentucky comes to town under the lights. The Vols have arguably the best offense in the country, while Kentucky is led by projected 1st round-pick QB Will Levis. The Vols also have the 130th pass defense out of 131 FBS teams, this has all the ingredients to be a fun shootout under the lights. But can Kentucky keep up in a shootout? I'm not sure.
Michigan State @ #4 TTUN 7:30 PM ABC
Evan 35-13 TTUN
Jake 42-20 TTUN
Brodie 45-20 TTUN
Jordan 45-21 TTUN
Andrew 38-20 TTUN
Michigan State has been on a downward spiral after winning 11 games just one season ago. They sit at 3-4 currently and are major underdogs going into Ann Arbor. On the other hand, coming off their first College Football Playoff bid, the Wolverines have won all 7 of their games this season and are heavy favorites vs Michigan State.
#2 Ohio State @ #13 Penn State 12:00 PM Fox
Evan 48-31 Ohio State
Jake 31-17 Ohio State
Brodie 35-24 Ohio State
Jake 54-21 Ohio State
Andrew 45-17 Ohio State
The Buckeyes come into this game #2 in the country and one of 6 undefeated teams across the nation. They also come into this game on a 5 game winning streak vs the Nittany Lions, including 2 at Beaver Stadium. Penn State is sitting at 6-1 and #13 in the country. However, just 2 weeks ago the Nittany Lions got shellacked by the #4 Wolverines 41-17 and 25-3 in the second half. Can the Buckeyes and their high flying offense keep it rolling or can Penn State make it interesting?
