Quote Of The Day: "Distance makes the heart grow fonder"

After a bit of a hiatus, we are back with our daily programming of The Morning Bell. Did anything big happen while we were away? Lets take a look

Dylan Raiola Gives Early Foundation To 2024 Class

On Monday night at approximately 11:00 P.M in Columbus, Dylan Raiola made his announcement that he was committing to Ohio State. It cannot be overemphasized how important it is to get a cornerstone piece to a recruiting class this early in the process. He is a one of a kind prospect, and if I had to take anyone from both the 2023 and 2024 class, I am picking Raiola

His measurables are off the charts, and his physical skill set reminds me a lot of D.J. Uiagalelei, with a much more polished throwing motion. He has an excellent deep ball, and some of the off platform throws he can make, make it hard not to see some Mahomes in his game.

As I said earlier, getting a talent like Raiola this early on is crucial. Talent always wants to play with talent, and with someone like Raiola, it is not limited to just his recruiting class. Here are some reactions from recruits in both the 2023 and 2024 classes

Brandon Inniss: #1 Wide Receiver Class Of 2023 (0.9944)

Carnell Tate: #5 Wide Receiver Class Of 2023 (0.9819)

Stacy Gage: #2 Running Back Class Of 2024 (0.9842)

Jemierah Smith: #1 Wide Receiver Class Of 2024 (0.9962)

Raiola is the top dog at his position, and he gives the Buckeyes a great starting position to finish with the #1 Class of 2024. June will be a huge recruiting month for Ohio State on the weekends of the 17th-19th and 24th-26th. Expect a few BOOMs.

Denzel Burke Receives High Praise

Since arriving on campus last January, Denzel Burke quickly burst onto the scene as a playmaker for Ohio State's defense, so the following tweet should not come as any surprise to Buckeye fans:

Logan Ryan, who currently plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, says the Burke could play in the NFL today if he was given the opportunity to. That is music to the ears of everyone in Columbus that supports the Scarlet and Gray, because not only will we get to see him ball out this year... but he has to come back for the 2023 season as well.

With Jim Knowles stepping in at Defensive Coordinator this year, and the entire defense expected to perform at a higher level, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Denzel Burke attending the College Football Awards as a finalist for the Thorpe Award at the end of the season. I cannot wait to see him and The Silver Bullets take the field on September 3rd.

Thanks for stopping in! It is Thursday, which basically means it is Friday, which basically means its the weekend. Cheers!
