Ohio State Wins Big in Vegas

The Buckeyes have their first commitment in the 2024 class. John Mobley Jr. who plays for Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nevada chose the Buckeyes over Arizona State, Creighton, LSU, USC, and Xavier.



John Mobley Jr. played his high school ball in Vegas but the 6'2" point guard started his life in Columbus. Mobley is a top-50 player in the 2024 class and is seen by many scouts as one of the best shooters in the country.


John Mobley announced that he received an offer from the Ohio State University on June 28, 2022. During his time in Columbus, he played in front of the hometown crowd in the Kingdom Summer League. Mobley put on a show and proved that he does not fear the bright lights against pro and top collegiate talent.



John Mobley Jr. spent the summer showing scouts that he is one of the top point guards in the country. Mobley is known for putting up huge numbers in the scoring column and scoring points quickly. Mobley has NBA range and has been referred to as "Baby Steph" by some. He has a clutch gene and has proven to be a leader on the court when the game is on the line. His ability to control the pace of games, find the open man and spread the floor will transition well to the next level.


Early October, John Mobley Jr. took an official visit with the Buckeyes. Growing up a Buckeye fan and the love for the game has made Mobley announce that he will call Columbus home for his collegiate career.


Buckeye fans, the future is bright and John Mobley Jr. has continued the recruiting momentum to the 2024 class.
