BOOM! 4⭐️ DT Kayden McDonald is a Buckeye!

Ohio State has just added a monster 2023 recruit to Larry Johnson's Defensive-Line room.

4-Star Defensive Tackle Kayden McDonald has announced his commitment to Ohio State on this Halloween evening! McDonald was initially offered by Larry Johnson back on September 13th, 2021. The defensive tackle from Suwanee, Georgia chose the Buckeyes over Clemson, Florida, Oklahoma, and Michigan! All of the predictions for his commitment were in favor of the Clemson Tigers, until Monday morning, when Crystal Balls in favor of the Buckeyes started to pour in.

McDonald has a composite rating of 0.9053 which places him as the #293 overall prospect in the class of 2023. Even though he doesn't have the overwhelming rating of some other prospects Ohio State is in on, he is every bit as important. At 6'3" 310 lbs, he offers a rare body type that is beneficial to having a stout rush defense. There have been questions in the past about Ohio State's physicality, and McDonald will help make sure those questions stay in the past.

With this commitment Ohio State leapfrogs Oklahoma for the #4 class in the nation (247 composite). McDonald has been a priority target for Ohio State visiting in both the summer and for the Ohio State Wisconsin game in week 4.

McDonald is the 3rd commitment for the defensive line in the 2023 class, joining Jason Moore and Will Smith Jr. The future interior of the Buckeyes defensive line seems to be figured out, which will allow Larry Johnson to put his full court press on for the three 5-Star DEs that the Buckeyes have a real shot to land (Keeley, Wilson, Uiagalelei)
